About Dawn Grosser, M.D.
My upbringing has greatly influenced my decision to practice orthopedic surgery, as well as my approach to interacting with the people I see. I grew up with a mother who had polio as a child and required a wheelchair for the rest of her life. I was taught to see things through the eyes of someone with a disability. I also saw how this permanent disability continued to deteriorate with age, necessitating further living modifications. I learned to see past appearances and how painful it was when others couldn’t. Daily life was filled with challenges and no real “fix.” However, there were creative solutions, and we explored them all.
With orthopedics, I found profession that routinely can fix musculoskeletal issues. A profession that encourages thinking outside the box. There is great hope and joy in the process, from beginning to end. I found an outlet where I could be effective and work towards a good outcome. Where often a disability need only be temporary.
I so enjoy the people I meet, although I realize the meeting is often due to an injury or pain. My intention is to understand that person’s specific circumstances and then collectively develop a personalized solution. I try to convey the care and attention that I would give my mom. I truly feel honored and humbled by the trust in the doctor/patient relationship and appreciate the opportunity to be involved in a meaningful way.
Support Team
Medicine has evolved with this fast-paced world. I am lucky to have a team that believes in taking the time needed for each individual’s situation and providing quality care. We can’t control outside emergencies, but we try hard to accommodate and be efficient, knowing your time is precious. We hope you feel that you are taken care of by a team who genuinely is there for you, from check-in to check-out and throughout the healing process. It truly takes a village and we are grateful you have chosen to be a part of it.
